Every young person, regardless of individual circumstances, is endowed with innate abilities. It is our responsibility as parents, teachers, mentors, leaders, and friends to help youth identify these unique abilities. Without positive reinforcement, these abilities remain unrecognized and unused. The YWCA San Antonio is committed to providing local youth with opportunities to discover and use their unique skill sets.
Teens Taking Action is a leadership development and service-learning program, supporting students to become social justice leaders in our community. Our program engages students, 12-19 years old learning about racial justice, gender equity, and food insecurity while strengthening our emotional intelligence, mental health, and relationship building. We facilitate our 10 session curriculum groups in-school and after school to students in SAISD, EISD, HISD, SSISD, and SWISD.
Also, we host monthly Saturday volunteer events for teens to receive service hours while giving back to their community.

Mi Carrera is an empowerment program for girls in middle or high school to stay engaged in school, build self-esteem, and explore academic and career options. We support young women in developing the technical skills, interpersonal skills, emotional awareness, and self-efficacy necessary to become the critical thinkers, effective leaders, responsible entrepreneurs, and social innovators of the future. Once a semester we offer our students a free college tour to visit a local or out-of-city university. We facilitate groups in-school to any campuses in SAISD, EISD, HISD, SSISD, and SWISD.

E=MC² stands for Empowerment equals Mi Carrera to the next level! This program serves youth of color in 4th-9th grade, that are at-risk of not being math proficient for their grade level. We want to improve our young peoples’ skills in mathematics and digital literacy to improve their confidence and academic success. We facilitate groups in school and after school with various engaging activities that align with T.E.K.S. to aid in student learning during the whole school year. We facilitate our 20 session curriculum groups in-school and after school to campuses in HISD, EISD, SAISD, and ECISD.
